My name is Jessica Johnson. This is my second year teaching at FLVT and my 9th year of teaching! I graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2007 with concurrent degrees in Arts and Education (Middle/Young Adult Years/ESL). I have taught in a range of schools from inner-city schools in Southern Ontario to a Hutterite School in Southern Alberta! I have also taught grades 1-9 in my teaching career thus far as well as all subject areas. My favorite subject of all is French.
I was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland and moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick to complete my post-secondary studies. After this, I moved to Waterloo, Ontario to teach French. Six years ago I had the opportunity to venture to the wild, wild west! So here I am in Southern Alberta having fun working with students every day! I live in Lethbridge with my husband, Vishaal and our three-year-old son, Jack. My favourite things to do besides working with young people are travelling, spending time with family and being active in the outdoors!
This year I will be teaching Grades 7-9 Math, Grade 7 Social, Grade 8 Health & Wellness, and Grades 6-9 French. Please sign up for Remind on the Course pages above to receive course information/reminders.
At school this year, I will be helping out with the drama production, the Me to We Club and the Quebec Trip among many other activities! I encourage you to join in the fun at Van Tighem! You will have a blast!
